Dr. Wenchen Dong of the University of Canterbury visits our research group

Dr. Wencheng Dong of the University of Canterbury gave us a lecture entitled "Seismic performance of glulam frames with buckling restrained braces (BRBs) " in the Department of Civil Engineering, Sichuan University. In his presentation, he introduced the experimental tests of BRB-braced glulam frames (BRBGFs) and component-based numerical models developed in OpenSees. Finally, a direct displacement-based design (DDBD) approach was developed for the BRBGF system to avoid the complicated process of numerical modelling and facilitate the application of the hybrid system.
